The Challenge: We want to send ASNs to our warehouse by sending the 856's already in the EDI Software's Mailbox to them in an email containing the EDI raw data (untranslated) for them to execute the preparation of the shipment.
The Solution: is to produce the Descriptive EDI Report that would produce a report as it is interpreted by the X12 Standards. This is made possible by the PRTDSCEDI API. This API requires a mailbox to run.
The most difficult part of the solution is how to systematically list and load the mailbox to the API call.
It starts with the creation of a Transaction Center subset. There are 22 filters to configure this subset. Save and Share the subset.
We envision that an email recipient will be related to a subset, that is why we have made the Subset, Email Address and Date Range to be parameters for this CLP. The QRYTCE is ran with the Subset and the results of which is posted to an output file which contains the MAILBOX. This file is read and the mailbox is loaded to the PRTDSCEDI API and an email is sent with the PED250DE report.
There is also an option to run the report immediately after Adding-to-Mailbox using a Add-to-TC exit program.
