The Challenge: How do I parse an EDI file without going through the software?
The Solution: Given that the ISA segment is fixed, finding it will easily locate the segment separator. Then, find the next segment separator to know the extent of the next segment until you reach IEA. This is dones by bringing the EDI file/document/communication session to a stream file in the IFS then an RPG program reads through it.
