The Challenge: In mapping a new document - EDIFACT-D-96A ORDERS. The trading partner states that for the DTM segment, one of the Date/time/period qualifiers is 43E. The mapper does not allow this value to be entered because it is an "invalid" value.
The Solution: DTM 1.1 is an ID field which is 3 bytes long. Obviously, 43E will fit, if ever it is truly valid. This can easily be fixed by adding the value in the User Element Code List.
But because there are variations for the D-96A, we should check these because we might have just used the wrong version (or it might be a miscommunication from the trading partner).
This particular case, it was existing in D-96A EANCOM. Check with trading partner if it was meant truly for this EDIFACT version.
